Wireless Product Design / End-of-Life Redesign

We design wireless products from scratch and redesign them when they hit end of life. Both paths lead to the same place: a working, certified product built by RF engineers who also understand regulatory compliance from the circuit board up.

When you have a new product to build

New concept. Blank schematic. No idea where to start with FCC?

We take wireless products from initial concept through regulatory certification – schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, embedded firmware, and compliance testing. We’ve done it for medical devices, satellite modems, IoT sensors, avionics hardware, and consumer products. First-pass certification is the goal every time.

  • Turnkey RF product development – concept to compliance
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium)
  • Embedded firmware and software development in-house
  • Cellular, LTE-M, NB-IoT, and satellite modem integration
  • Environmental test over temperature and humidity
  • LabVIEW factory test programming
  • Basic mechanical and packaging design

When your wireless product hits end of life

Component discontinued. Supply chain gone. Platform too old to support?

End-of-life obsolescence is one of the most disruptive problems in RF electronics – a seemingly minor component swap can affect RF performance, emissions characteristics, and certification status all at once. We specialize in EOL redesign: identifying modern equivalents, redesigning the circuit where needed, and verifying the updated design still meets its original RF and EMC specs.

  • End-of-life component replacement – RF and mixed-signal circuits
  • Full PCB redesign for obsolescence and product lifecycle extension
  • Backward-compatible hardware redesign – preserve form factor where possible
  • RF product size reduction – modern parts often enable significant shrinkage
  • FCC and EMC re-verification after redesign
  • Legacy hardware modernization across medical, avionics, defense, and satellite

Example projects:

Avionics

Aviation VHF Receiver Redesign

EOL components replaced with modern long-life equivalents. In production 10+ years with zero reported field failures.

When you need an RF engineer to lay out your high-frequency PCB and want it right the first time

Auto-routing won’t cut it. Emissions failures and missed specs cost board turns.

High-frequency PCB layout is not a mechanical exercise – it’s RF engineering. We lay out every board manually, with RF isolation, return path integrity, and emissions control built in from the start. The goal is always minimum board turns and a clean first pass at regulatory testing.

  • Controlled impedance routing and stack-up optimization
  • RF isolation and return path integrity
  • Grounding strategy and partitioning
  • Shielding strategy integration
  • Mixed-signal and high-speed digital separation

Who we help

  • Medical – IEC 60601, FCC, wireless telemetry, patient monitoring
  • Avionics – DO-160, VHF/UHF comms, transponders, obsolescence
  • Defense – MIL-STD-461, secure comms, ruggedized hardware
  • Satellite – Modem design, size/weight reduction, SATCOM integration
  • Industrial / Utility – Smart meters, wireless sensors, harsh environments
  • Consumer / IoT – FCC Part 15, Bluetooth, WiFi, ZigBee, product launch
